The Malouinière of la Chipaudière
Visit one of the largest malouinières of the area, listed as an historical monument, and its French garden attributed to Le Nôtre.

The Chipaudiere, located in the city of Saint-Malo, is the largest malouinière.
The construction of the present castle was overseen by Francois-Auguste Magon de la Lande between 1710 and 1720. Shipowner under Louis XIV, he then became director of the East India Company. He was one of the most powerful owners of the city at the time of the splendor of St. Malo.
The Malouinière of la Chipaudiere shows the dimensions of a castle in a park with an area of 4 hectares. The chapel was blessed in 1735. The Malouinière (mansion, outbuildings, garden and chapel) was classified historical monument February 2, 1982. Several sets of documents are classified, the dining room decorated with Carrara marble and oak paneling from Norway, the office and Jouy fabrics, bedroom on the ground floor hung with Cordova leather. Moreover paneling and woodwork rooms are oak from Holland.
The French garden is attributed to Le Nôtre. It opens with three successive terraces leading to a perspective on a reflecting pool extended by two paths lined with lime trees.
The Malouinière of Chipaudiere, is private but offers tours during the season :

- Every day from July 1 to August 11
- Free visit of the park, courtyard and avenues from 12:30 to 16:30
- A guided tour inside the house and the French garden from 16:30 to 18:30 (duration: 2 h)
- Price of guided tour: 5 € per person
- For groups:

- From 25 April to 1 July and 15 August to 1 October
- Guided tours by appointment
- Price: 4 € per person
